Artist Info: Brisbane’s favourite alt-pop quartet Cub Sport confirm details of their much anticipated second studio album BATS. “BATS is an intimate album inspired by experiences of self-doubt, growth, partying, coming out, learning the power of self-acceptance, self-belief and falling in love”, says front man Tim Nelson.

While rooted in pop, the record is an unhindered sonic exploration with soul and R&B influences largely written, recorded and produced at home. Highlights include the confessional opener "Chasin’" written after a long trip overseas, during which Tim first realised he was in love with bandmate Sam. “It was equal parts exciting and distressing” says Tim. “I’d hardly come out to myself and the idea of coming out to anyone else was terrifying. I feel like "Chasin’" ties together all of the feelings I had during this time.”

And now all eyes are on BATS – what already feels like a career defining record, surprising from such a young band. A 13-track collection imbued with a distinct aura of honesty, vulnerability and sincerity. It’s the sound of a band hitting their stride and truly making their mark.
