Artist Info: Olmeca grew up in the neighborhoods of Los Angeles and Mexico, a reality that attests to an authentic mix of sounds, musical genres and a cultural sensitivity that is only found within the margin of society. Once a poor child in the neighborhoods of Los Angeles, an inhabitant of the streets during his studies and sleeping in his car or on the beaches of Venice Beach, Olmeca became a university professor and an outstanding artist and activist with the greatest impact in the United States.

He is considered one of the most successful independent artists that can coexist between hip-hop in English and Spanish and the "Latin Alternative" scene. He has toured throughout Canada, Latin America and Europe. He is credited for being part of a new trend of Latin music in the United States, and according to Noisey, "a direct responsible for the rap in Spanglish is one thing." Olmeca's work has appeared in Noisey Español, BBC London, Huffington Post, NPR, KEXP Seattle, The legendary Hip Hop Magazine; URB Magazine, Democracy Now, CNN Latino, among many others.

Olmeca has also had a presence in documentaries such as PBS Independent Lens and Two Americans, a film about immigration problems in Arizona. He has also written music for television shows such as Sons of Anarchy, CHANCE on HULU and the new series The Mayans on FX.
