Artist Info: On their fourth release, Alone in Austin, Twin Brother is pushing toward a more emotional, free, and powerful form of folk-rock. With the addition of trumpet and organ, Twin Brother incorporates five-part harmonies and a live act that's "bigger and groovier." Over the years, Twin Brother has opened for Valerie June, Alejandro Escovedo, Sarah Shook & The Disamers, Avi Buffalo, and Water Liars and headlined numerous venues around Milwaukee.
After parting ways with their previous drummer in 2016, Raasch flew to Austin alone and spent a few weeks writing “a few albums worth of material that was heavily-inspired by the area he was in” — both geographically and emotionally, says WMSE. Milwaukee Record calls Alone In Austin "a full-fledged re-imagining "of those songs and gives a great review.
Raasch may have flown to Texas alone, but the rest of the musicians in Twin Brother banded together to push that solitary songwriter's musings to places Twin Brother that has never been before.
